Here Come the teeth!

As a First Time Mom(FTM) am always looking out for the milestones, following a growth chart that explains the milestones a baby achieves every month or so. At 3 months my son had some serious drooling, and of course I ticked the teething off the milestone. I told whoever cared to listen how my son was doing so well at hitting the growth milestones and that he actually had his first set of teeth (I had not even checked his mouth). A week later the drooling reduced, and there were no teeth in his mouth! At 4 months still no teeth and no drooling. At this point some babies younger than him had teeth, some people would tell me he had delayed and He will probably delay in everything else(Wrong!) I started giving Him  teething powder (Look out for my review on this!)
At 6 and half months,I get home from work tired,I find my son awake  and as always He lights up when He sees me and He smiles :-). I see teeth! think I screamed so loud I scared him. That night I kept making him smile just to see the pearly pearls, so heart warming.
Now His 7 going on 8 months and the two top teeth are out. Still drooling, He has just discovered the biting part, each time I say ouch he laughs guess he finds it funny.

Dear  fellow FTM,
Babies are different! the milestone chart you are using is meant to be a guide. Do not panic if your baby does not seem to be on target with it (trust me), when the time is right Baby will hit that milestone and own it! Enjoy the cuddles with your baby and do not check his/her mouth for teeth. Yes, teething causes discomfort, some babies have fevers. And No, teething does not cause diarrhea! be mindful of what baby puts in his/her mouth.
Most of all never compare your baby to another baby, each baby is unique and very special

love,
Ella the Mom
